"Clippings"

The fall garden is perfect for perennial garden chores. The air is cool, humidity low and the soil is still warm encouraging plants to put out new roots and get settled in before winter. Some garden clubs have plant exchange programs or sales at this time of the year. This is a good way to share and exchange excess plants from the garden. Order dormant woody stock to take advantage of fall bargains. Plant upon arrival. For more tips see below.

Composting has been gaining popularity for good reason, but it can be highly impractical for gardeners who have limited yard space and live in urban areas. Tips- Fill your lawn with crocus bulbs, giving your yard a show in spring. Usually by the time the lawn needs mowing, the leaves are fully or almost fully matured.
